Summary
Tom Gates is a story of a boy who lives in Brighton, UK. He loves singing, doodling, he is expert in making excuses and the bane of his grumpy teacher, Mr. Fullerman. His band's name is DOG ZOMBIES. His best friend and neighbor is Derek. In his band, There are are only three boys that are Norman, Derek, and Tom. In his school, he sits with an annoying boy named Marcus Mendrew. In his family, he has a his mother, father and his grumpy sister named Delia. He doesn't like Marcus, Mr. Fullerman and Delia. When his teachers don’t have their beady eyes on him, he likes to draw pictures and write about stuff, like last summer’s worst camping vacation ever, or how much he hates sitting next to nosy Marcus. He wants to impress Amy Porter, who is very nice and smart girl but ignores him. Tom’s teachers think he is easily distracted and “lacks focus”. His sister wears glasses where ever she goes and even in her home. In his books he makes a cloud above Delia with a thunder.

How I felt about it
This book was very humorous. This book shows that we should concentrate on the books when we are in the class. I learnt to doodle and deal with annoying people. The only problem I found in the book was that it had a very little text and a lot of doodles. Therefore, it gets done within very less time and the reader feels unsatisfied.
